The MIA organizes a National Conference on Combating Terrorism, Extremism and Corruption

As it was announced earlier, there was a Republican Conference on "Countering modern challenges and threats in the Central Asian region: achievements and perspectives of Tajikistan in the fight against terrorism, extremism and corruption" organized on 19 June 2014 in the "Dushanbe-Plaza" business centre, on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
After the National Anthem of the Republic of Tajikistan was performed, the Lieutenant General Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan made a welcome speech.
Further, Khudoyorzoda Bakhtiyor Tavar - Head of the Executive Office of the President of the RT, Salimzoda Sherkhoni Odina - General Prosecutor of the RT, Yatimov Saimumin Sattorovich – Chairperson of the State Committee for National Security of the RT, Lieutenant General Abdufatohi Goib - Director of the Agency for State Financial Control and fight Against Corruption of the RT, as well as Ms. Susan Elliot - U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan and Ambassador Markus Mueller - Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan made welcome remarks.
The Minister of Internal Affairs Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro in his report about the Strategy of the State Policy of Tajikistan on combating terrorism, extremism and corruption has noted that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan takes serious actions to achieve good results in the fight against terrorism and extremism, as these problems threaten the whole world.
The Head of the OSCE OiT Markus Mueller in his welcoming speech has emphasized that the "OSCE plays an important role in combating Violent Extremism and Radicalization that Leads to Terrorism (VERLT). In order to achieve the results in combating them, we should work together with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the civil society and representatives of the clergy". Ambassador Mueller has outlined that in the frames of the OSCE VERLT project; a Working Group was established, composing of the governmental ministries and agencies, to elaborate the National Strategy on combatting VERLT. Along with this, the Police Reform Program is operating within the OSCE, which also contributes to the fight against terrorism, extremism and other crucial issues.
The speeches were made by the representatives of the Council of Muftis of Sughd region, the Government of Tajikistan for Religious Affairs, regulation of traditions and ceremonies, Committee for Women and Family issues under the Government of Tajikistan, Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism under the Government of Tajikistan, the MIA Academy, Agency for State Financial Control and fight Against Corruption of the RT, mosques, Council of Ulema, MIA RT Department on Combatting Organized Crime, MIA RT Department on Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking.
The OSCE expert from the Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir Zagribelin made a presentation on “Trends in contemporary cybercrime and cyberterrorism." He told about the threat of cyber-crime at all levels worldwide. Mr. Zagribelin has specifically emphasized about the cooperation of the Ltd. "Group of information security" of Russian Federation with the Republic of Tajikistan. He expressed that cooperation in this area will be developed in the future.
