A republican round table on increasing the level of police cooperation with the public was held in Sughd region

The republican round table on the topic "Improving the level of police cooperation with the public" was held on October 4 in the Sughd region.

The round table was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General of Militia Umarzoda Ikrom Islom, National Coordinator for Police Reform, Major General of the Militia Shodmonzoda Farkhodbek Aliyor, Head of the Public Order Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Major General of Militia Zikrullo Hukumatullo, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Sughd Region, Major General of Militia Nazarzoda Kudratullo Bobo, OSCE Representative in Tajikistan, Dushanbe Bahrom Abdulloev, militia officers, Chairmen and Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States council for cooperation with the militia.

During the opening of the event, Deputy Minister of the Interior Major General of Militia Umarzoda Ikrom Islom expressed gratitude to the participants for their advisory, practical and organized assistance in strengthening the interaction of the police with the public, as well as increasing the level of professional knowledge and skills of employees. He noted: “We believe that today the measures taken within the framework of the police reform program will be considered, especially in the direction of deepening police cooperation with the public, since the round table facilitates the exchange of views and increase the level of knowledge and professional skills.

In his opinion, one of the main tasks of the militia is to establish close cooperation with the public. To this end, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the country, respected Emomali Rahmon, noted at the solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of the Militia: “The goal of the police reform is to further collaborate closely with the population, increase public confidence in this key agency, ensure transparency of work and joint fight against crime. It was noted that the participation of society in solving serious security problems, ensuring public order, crime detection and prevention is one of the most effective and very important measures. It is necessary to develop and establish more effective ways of police interaction with society as much as possible.

Then, in his speech, the national coordinator for facilitating the police reform process in the OSCE program cabinet in Dushanbe noted that close cooperation between the public and the police is the main core of the police reform program, therefore the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior in all cities and regions of the republic took a number of measures to bring citizens closer together with police officers.

In continuation of the republican round table, leaders and representatives of public councils of cities, regions and regions of the republic made presentations on the activities of the councils, existing shortcomings, and on the programs implemented. In the final part of the round table, the participants of the event also made presentations on the long-term plan of councils and presented proposals for promoting the field of activity.
