Round table to support acivities of the Public council in Khatlon region on police reform

On September 28, 2019, was held a round table as a part of activities in order to support the Khatlon  Public Council for Police Reform with the participation of members of the Public Council.

The event was opened by representative of  Ministry of Internal Affairs in Khatlon Region, police lieutenant colonel Kalandarzoda Muzaffar and emphasized the achievement of positive results in terms of implementing the "Police Reform Strategy for 2013-2020" and the police reform program (development) for 2014-2020.

The head of the group of the Public Council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Khatlon region Barotov Shakhrier informed about the results of the Council and the plans of the executive council. In the continuation of the round table, Bakhrom Abdulloev –National Police Reform Officer of the OSCE programme office in Dushanbe noted that with the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, donor countries and international organizations, in order to ensure favorable conditions in the process of police reform, police officers are provided modern conditions and equipment, offices  for district inspectors are being built, today all working conditions in the activities of employees of the organization are significantly improved new interior.

Rustam Bakhridinov, program coordinator of the Fidokor Public Organization, presented a plan for joint activities of the Public Council at the Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Khatlon region to raise public awareness of police reform, interrogation to assess the level of awareness of residents of cities and districts of the Khatlon region, on the direction of police reform, on activities district inspectors, the integration of civil society in law enforcement. The participants in the round table, along with the consideration of the Council’s work program, analyzed the instructions and instructions of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Khatlon region and made appropriate decisions.
