The 7th International Association of Police Academies Executive Board Meeting in Bahrain

The OSCE Office in Tajikistan (OiT) has supported participation of the MIA RT Academy management in the Seventh Executive Board Meeting of the International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA), which was held from 21 to 23 October 2014 in Bahrain.
Tajik delegation consisted of the MIA Academy Head - Major General Zoirov Dzhurakhon, Head of the Financial and Economic Unit of the MIA Academy Lieutenant Colonel Sobirov Aloviddin and Counter Terrorism and Police Assistant of the OSCE OiT Mr. Umed Kurbonov.
The INTERPA Executive Board consists of representatives from the institutions of higher police education of the following countries: the Republic of Belarus, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Tunisia. The event was also attended by representatives of the MIA of Turkey (INTERPA Secretariat), Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The issues such as determination of the exact date and venue of the 4th INTERPA Conference, conference agenda, and the content of its main theme and sub-themes were discussed during the meeting. Inter alia, the issues of police staff training on combatting terrorism and organized crime, staff training to ensure public order during the mass unrest, sport events, aviation security, as well as community policing issues were considered. The issues related to the courses on interrogation, management and leadership for INTERPA members, to the estimate for transformation of INTERPA electronic journal about police research into INTERPA digital newsletter, to INTERPA security experts manual, INTERPA electronic library on safety and principles of long-term curriculum development were also discussed at the meeting.
For Reference: International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA) was established on 2 July 2011 in Istanbul (Turkey) with the participation of representatives from 24 law enforcement educational institutions from 22 countries of the world. The Association was founded in order to create a communication platform for maximum cooperation development and coordination between the police training institutions and is aimed at efficient use of existing resources, sharing the best practices, implementation the scientific and academic research in the field of law enforcement, police education and training. Currently, the association has 46 members from 40 countries of the world. This year Kostanai Academy of the MIA of Kazakhstan, Police Academy of Cambodia and Police Academy of the Lower Saxony (Germany) have joined the INTERPA.
