The OSCE representatives have participated at the public hearings

The Counter Terrorism and Police Unit representatives of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, Mr. Peter Hajnik and Mr. Khaydar Mahmadiev have participated in the public hearings that were held on 2 September 2014 in Dushanbe.
There were about 80 representatives of the governmental institutions, civil society, as well as bar associations and international organizations amongst the participants, who took part in the presentation and discussion of the "On the state-guaranteed free legal aid" Concept.
The goal of the public hearings is an awareness raising among the relevant state agencies, civil society, as well as bar associations and international organizations that work in the field of rule of law and access to justice on the major aspects of the concept paper "On the state-guaranteed free legal aid" and receive recommendations for the document finalization.
The representatives of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan proposed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan to organize the same public hearings to discuss the Draft Law "On Police".
