A Joint Meeting of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and Republic of Tajikistan is going on in Khujand

The Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Mr. Ramazon Hamro Rahimzoda are co-chairing the meeting.
According to the agenda, the issues of cooperation between two agencies in combating extremism, as well as the prospects for cooperation between the forensic departments of the Ministries of Internal Affairs (MIA) will be discussed.
During the discussion, the materials prepared by the Working Group, which also includes a representative of the Police Reform National Team, the parties came to the conclusion that the Police Reform (Development) Programme for 2014-2020 being implemented by the MIA of the Republic of Tajikistan will be crucial in improving the cooperation between the MIAs. The Program objectively provides new opportunities for expansion of cooperation in the personnel capacity building, including education and vocational training of personnel, upgrading the infrastructure and raising the rate of the information system development in practice.
Other issues of mutual interest will be also discussed in the course of the meeting.
It is expected that the parties will sign a Protocol on amending the Cooperation Agreement between the MIA of the Republic of Tajikistan (RT) and the Russian Federation (RF) from 21 August 2007, and the Protocol on Cooperation between the Investigative Departments of the MIA of the RF and RT.
As a result of the joint meeting a Work Plan of the Joint Board of the MIA RF and MIA RT for 2015 will be signed.
