Sport Events under the Motto: “Sport against Drug Addiction”

The opening ceremony of sport events of indoor soccer and volleyball was held on 19 January 2013 under the motto “Sport against Drug Addiction” in the sports complex “Spitamen” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
The ceremony involved participation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Ramazon Rakhimov, Deputy Head of the Drug Control Agency under the President of Tajikistan, Ms. Bunafsha Odinaeva, Chairman of the Committee on Youth, Sport, and Tourism under the Government of Tajikistan, Mr. Maliksho Negmatov, Counter Terrorism and Police Advisor of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, Mr. Ulf Billving, and other officials.
The tournaments are held by the OSCE financial support amongst the state bodies, NGOs, international and diplomatic organizations, as well as embassies, from 16 January to 20 February 203 in the indoor sport hall “Dinamo” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan. In total 24 indoor soccer teams and 12 volleyball teams, including the OSCE team, will be participating in the tournaments.
It should be noted that the OSCE Office in Tajikistan in co-operation with law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan has been implementing the project “Drug Prevention and Awareness Campaign in the districts and cities of MBAR, Sogd and Khatlon regions, and Direct Rule Districts” throughout four past years by funding cultural mass events under the motto “Tajikistan against Drugs.”
